When the axons of motor neurons reach the innervated skeletal muscle, they lose myelin sheath, and their axons branch repeatedly. Each branch forms grape like expansion and contacts with a skeletal muscle fiber to form a chemical synaptic connection. The connection is oval plate-shaped expansion, which is called motor endplate, also known as divine meridian muscle connection.
